BISMARCK, N.D. - U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp announced $2,844,888 in federal funding to the University of Mary in Bismarck that will be used to build up infrastructure to stabilize the river banks next to the North Dormitory.

“The University of Mary offers a top-notch education and sweeping views from their campus above the Missouri River,” said Heitkamp. “The federal funds awarded today will help stabilize the west banks near the North Dormitory on the campus and help make sure that the University of Mary campus grounds remain strong and stable for future generations to come and learn.”

These federal funds are made available through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program. This grant program provides funding to plan and implement mitigation projects that reduce the risk of natural disaster events.
