Senator Heitkamp’s office offers college students the opportunity to experience the legislative process firsthand. Internships are available year round and on a rolling basis in each of the senator’s offices: Bismarck, Fargo, Dickinson, Grand Forks, Minot and Washington, D.C.
Interns will gain experience with the legislative process and the operations of the senator’s office by working with staff on issues and interacting with constituents. Each intern will be given a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: conducting legislative research, assisting with correspondence, attending hearings and briefings and performing general administrative duties.
In Senator Heitkamp’s Washington, D.C. office, the press internship provides students and recent graduates with the opportunity to become embedded into Senator Heitkamp’s press team.
